Love with Food January Box “Love is Kind”

20160115_084502January’s Love with Food box has arrived and been thoroughly devoured! Here’s what I thought of this month’s box:

Corn and Sea Salt Chips by The Better Chip

These were pretty good! A decent, standard corn chip, although a bit sweeter than I’m used to.

Mini Chocolates by Ritter Sport

20160116_194226Can one go wrong with Ritter Sport? I think not! The Hubs thoroughly enjoyed this little treat. (I prefer the marzipan flavor myself!)

Handmade Sea Salt Caramels by Annie B’s

20160118_202353You had me at “sea salt”. Now, I’m really biased, because I make sea salt caramels at home, but these were almost as good as mine. Would definitely recommend!

Honey Hard Candies by Go Organic

20160121_090755These taste just like a solid piece of honey. I was going to say “not my cup of tea”, but then I thought one of these plopped INTO a cup of tea would be AMAZING!

Granola Cookie 2 Pack by Nothin’ But Foods

These were VERY tasty, and a very reasonable calorie count for TWO cookies! Would definitely snack on these babies again.

Original Premium Smoked Pork Snack Stick by DiMario Foods

20160119_145551*swoon* Meat in tube form is a major food group for me. Add smoke and make it easy to throw in my bag and you’ve got me hook, line and sinker! Loved the smoky goodness, and only SIXTY CALORIES?! Heck yeah! Would absolutely buy these. No question!

Mini Wafers by Loacker

I can only describe these as a sort of upscale KitKat, and I mean that in the best way possible. Delicious!

Tomato & Onion Bruschetta by Dipin

20160121_090830I left this until last because I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like it. I had it with sticks of cucumber and it was really tasty! A nice tomato-y flavor without being overpowering or too garlicky.  I’m not sure I would run out and buy a bunch but if it wound up in front of me I’d definitely snack again. 🙂

Not my favorite, but very good! Really loved the meat in tube form. 🙂

November Love With Food Box

The theme of November’s Love with Food box was Thank-Full, and these treats were certainly satisfying!

Shiela G’s Salted Caramel Brownie Brittle

IMG_20151115_184939501The Hubs and I have had and loved Brownie Brittle before (OH HEY Love With Food, you sent us this EXACT FLAVOR in June), so this was no exception. It’s like a brownie in a dipable chip format. Yum!

Monbana Dark Chocolate Squares & Milk Chocolate Squares

IMG_20151115_184817007_HDRI ate these two days ago and as I’m writing this my mouth is watering. I prefer dark chocolate, and the dark chocolate square was rich and dark without being bitter. It was similar in flavor to my favorite eating chocolate, Ghirardelli 60%. Nuanced and coated the tongue perfectly. I’m not a fan of milk chocolate, but the texture of this milk chocolate square was divine. Velvety and smooooth!

Lotus Bakeries Biscoff Cookies

IMG_20151115_184801023Okay, this is my first foray into the pop culture phenomenon that is Biscoff. I first heard about Biscoff when someone said the words “cookie butter”. (Yes, this is apparently the new Nutella, which was the new peanut butter.) But I get it. Biscoff cookies are delicious, and similar to a cinnamon graham cracker flavor. Would taste delicious with a cup of coffee or tea.

Dilettante Chocolates Raspberry TruffleCremes in Milk Chocolate No. 30

IMG_20151115_184827327_HDRAgain, not a huge fan of milk chocolate, but the raspberry flavor in this was good. Didn’t blow my mind, but I wouldn’t turn one down if someone handed it to me!

Back to Nature Honey Graham Sticks

IMG_20151115_184924158Okay, these taste like your average every day graham cracker, and I like graham crackers. But what makes these great is the shape. Imagine dipping these in Nutella or peanut butter?! Yum!

Dirty Sweet Potato Chips

IMG_20151115_184950668_HDRI love sweet potato chips, and these were good ones. Great texture, great flavor, not greasy at all. Yum!

David’s Tea

IMG_20151115_184913732I’m currently sipping the Forever Nuts flavor, and it’s really delicious! It’s perfect for the transition from fall to winter, with hints of cinnamon, almond and maybe even vanilla caressing my nose like a warm fire. There’s a creaminess to it that I really love, and I am NOT a fan of herbal teas! Way to go, DavidsTea!

Bello Rustico’s Sesame Tocchetti

IMG_20151115_184932568_HDRThe Hubs ate these, and says they were very tasty sesame breadsticks. He really likes sesame AND bread, so I’m not sad I missed them.

Bonus Item: Turbinado Natural Cane Sugar by Maui Brand

IMG_20151115_184837061I haven’t tried this yet, because I don’t add sugar to my tea, but you can’t go wrong with turbinado sugar!

Thanks Love with Food for another delicious snack box! Can’t wait to try December’s box!

October Love with Food

IMG_20151015_195514567 (1)September’s Love with Food Box? YUM! One of my favorites so far. The theme this month was Touchdown Treats. To be honest, I couldn’t care less about football, but apparently world champion pro football player Steve Weatherford and I helped donated to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, and since I LIVE IN NEW JERSEY, that’s pretty flippin’ awesome! Here’s what we got:

Beecher’s Handmade Cheese Original Crackers

IMG_20151016_184619571 (1)Uhm, yum. So, I thought these would just be boring crackers, and I am so happy I was wrong! Not only are these crackers dense and sturdy, ready to hold a smorgasbord of toppings, but they’re made with cornmeal so they taste a bit like CORNBREAD. Win!

Dolcetto Petites Cookies & Cream Wafer Bites

IMG_20151015_195522192 (1)These were nice, great, almost Oreo-like flavor, with an amply creamy center. I wished the outside cookie was a bit crispier though. The Hubs liked them, too.

Cosmos Creations Premium Puffed Corn – Cheddar and Pepper Flavor

IMG_20151019_090654197_HDR (1)These were very tasty! They had a texture like Pirate’s Booty, but the cheddar and black pepper flavor really hit the spot. A large portion for the calories, too! A great snack for tv watching, as I was watching the season premiere of The Knick at the time.

Somersault Snacks Crunchy Sunflower Seed Bites – Dutch Cocoa Flavor

IMG_20151019_185933397 (1)These have a GREAT texture. They’re super crunchy, with a slightly salty slightly sweet flavor, but not too much of either. The cocoa and sunflower seed flavors really come through.

Torie and Howard Chewie Fruities – Meyer Lemon Raspberry Flavor

IMG_20151019_195020258Uhhhm, more please! These are similar to Starburst candies, but with a slightly softer, easier to chew texture, and the Meyer lemon raspberry flavor was mouthwateringly good! Like Starburst, but for adults. Would buy again!

Luna Protein Bar – Chocolate Salted Caramel Flavor

IMG_20151020_152100093_HDRI’ve had and enjoyed Luna bars before, but for the life of me couldn’t remember if I’d tried this flavor (although their Lemon Zest variety is amazeballs). It was good, but didn’t scream “salted caramel” at me. Maybe I’m spoiled because I make homemade Maldon sea salt caramels every year at Christmas. Yep, spoiled.

Hubs Home Cooked Salted Virginia Peanuts

They say "Hubs" right on the package!
They say “Hubs” right on the package!

The Hubs ate these and said they were just very tasty salted peanuts. He did say they seemed extra crunchy and he liked that!

Brothers All Natural Fruit Crisps

IMG_20151015_195514567 (1)I apparently forgot to take a picture of the package for this one, so I cropped it out of the ensemble photo. The Hubs ate these, but neither one of us were a huge fan. I’m not into dried apples usually, and wasn’t here either, and The Hubs had trouble with the freeze dried texture. ANY other fruit would have been better for me.

All in all, this was a fantastic box! There was a nice surprise (the crackers) and even the worst of the bunch (apple crisps) were still decently good. Well done, Love with Food!
