In the Mid-Atlantic we have a very large convenience store/gas station chain called WaWa. Every year around Thanksgiving people rush to WaWa to buy a 6-inch hoagie roll filled with stuffing, moist turkey, gravy the temperature of molten steel and tart cranberry sauce. It’s become a tradition in my household for us to make our own Gobblers: with Stovetop Stuffing, roasted turkey breast, homemade gravy and homemade whole berry cranberry sauce on a soft kaiser roll.
Is it healthy? No, but it’s comfort food at it’s ultimate: warm, juicy, and full of delicious carbs. Sometimes it’s okay to enjoy something this darn good, and since it’s only once a year, it’s worth every calorie.
What can you not live without this time of year? Let me know in the comments!
Also, I’d love to ask you to give me your input about the future of AML (don’t worry, I am NOT going anywhere) so please fill out my poll and let me know what you’d be interested in seeing. Suggestions are always welcome.
I’d love to be able to do a lot more on this blog in the coming year, but I can’t do it without you. Do you love what you read here? Are you hungry for more? Click the SUPPORT link at the top of the page to find out ways you can help me give you more. Even the tiniest bit helps! 🙂
