pAs we all are MORE than aware, Valentine’s Day is IMMINENT. (I mean, I was even reminded excessively while watching the season finale of The Expanse, which is IN NO WAY romantic. Unless you get butterflies in your stomach watching people puke from radiation poisoning. Hey, maybe you do, who am I to judge?)
Now I’ve never really been a fan of Valentine’s Day. I mean, you should be good to your significant other all the time, and not just one day of the year. Overpriced roses? Mediocre chocolates in a heart-shaped box? Not for me. And I wouldn’t be caught dead going out to eat on Valentine’s Day. That sounds like absolute TORTURE.
I do, however, like a tasty dessert, and it’s a double bonus if it’s homemade! So here are some delicious looking desserts I found on Pinterest that maybe, if I’m really, REALLY lucky, my husband will make for me.

A Measured Life 
I’ll take the chocolate torte please! Jeff wouldn’t have a clue where to start on making a dessert, but I’m going to bake a cake and perhaps sneak in some of that awful gel icing to write a mushy message on it. I am nothing if not classy! 😀

Now how was that for a big hint, Mr. “Measured”? I hope you get your wish. I usually make ischl tartlets
for my son-in-law and grandson (aka linzer tarts.) My son-in-law happens to love them and so do I. My
love comes from memories. I have a February birthday and when I was little my father always took me to
his friend’s bakery and I was allowed to pick out anything that I wanted. It was always the ischl tartlets.
The memories make them taste even better, I’m quite sure. But those heart mini-pies look mighty enticing
too. I love, love, love this idea. It’s so personal and you’d be building a memory. Now what could be better
than that?!
